Drain on Jalan Yos Sudarso Repaired

Due to it is often inundated and caused traffic congestion, a drain located on Jalan Yos Sudarso, North Jakarta, immediately repaired. Even, a pump house with the power of two static pumps would also be built in the Tablo Park, Plumpang, Koja. Previously, three pumps were already stationed at that location.

Hopefully, the inundation does not last long than last year which took a few days

Besides pump house, a gutter also being built on the west side of Jalan Yos Sudarso and will be connected from west side of the drain to Yos Sudarso 1 pump house on the east side of the road and then pumped to Sunter River.

 

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, until the end of this November, heavy rain has led to inundation at some points of Jalan Yos Sudarso. Among them are slow and fast lanes on the west side of Jalan Sudarso starting from Sunter Toll Road Gate until flyover with water level reached 5-20 cm.

 

Through such project, inundation that reaches more than 1 meter high that happens last year can be anticipated. Last year, the main access into North Jakarta had paralyzed more than 2 days, but it could be resolved after related unit did a quick handling.

 

Head of Water Resources Facility and Infrastructure Section, North Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Kuryatna Atmadja admitted that pump house construction will be managed by Public Works Ministry. From coordination meeting results, it was targeted to finish in 2015.

 

"The pump house will be built in Tablo Park. There, we also prepare 2 pumps with power of 1.6 cubic meters per second," he expressed, Tuesday (11/25).

 

He hoped such pump house is capable to support 3 other pump houses at the same site. They are Yos Sudarso 1 with a capacity of 1 cubic meters per second (2 pumps), Yos Sudarso 2 with 3 cubic meters per second (3 pumps), and Sunter Kirana with 0.5 cubic meters per second (2 pumps).

 

On the other hand, the embankment on the west side of Sunter River was elevated at some point, starting from around the Yos Sudarso 2 until front of the Kodamar's Transjakarta bus stop elevated up to 1.5 meters.

 

"Hopefully, the inundation does not last long than last year which took a few days," he expected.
